How to send an online fax free.

To send an online fax free there are several websites you can use. The disadvantage of this free service is you are limited to three pages and the fax cover sheet contains the company’s advertising.

Since you do not have your own fax number, you cannot receive faxes. In addition, the documents you fax may not be sent over a secure connection.  

To use this free service, you go to the company’s website and enter your email address, upload your document and enter the fax number to which you would like your document sent.

Currently, there is no online fax free service available that allows you to send and receive faxes using your own fax number.

Here is a quick tutorial to get you started:

1. In order to use a fax service you need an email address. We recommend Gmail because most faxing services have designed their programs to be compatible with Google Gmail.

Gmail is free and you can use your company name as your email address. Once you have signed up, a confirmation is sent to your cell phone.  

2. Choose a faxing service.  For a limited time, RingCentral is offering a FREE 30-day trial such as Ring Central. If you are not satisfied with the service, you can cancel and find another service.

Provide your Gmail address when you register because this will allow you to send and receive faxes through your Gmail account. Once your fax service account is activated, you are ready to begin faxing.

3. Go into your Gmail account and click on the Compose Mail button.

Enter the phone number and the extension of your fax provider in the “send to” field.

For example, if you are using Ring Central you would enter 4075751612@rcfax.com.

4. If you want to send a document, click on “attach file” or the paper clip icon. Once your document is uploaded you can click on “send”. If you want to type your fax, you can type it as if you were sending an email. Send it and your fax is on its way.
